A recent survey suggests that teenagers spend 31 hours a week online and nearly 2 hours looking at pornography.

To put that into perspective, there are 168 hours in a week. The average teen sleeps approximately 6 1/2 hours per night for a total of 45 1/2 hours. The average teen spends 56 hours a week in school. This means that teenagers have approximately 66 1/2 disposable hours per week. Within this time frame they must: eat, participate in extra-curricular activities, do homework, and/or work for an employer. Not to mention the fact that teenagers also consume large quantities of visual media through television and movies.

So, of a teenagers disposable time, they spend approximately 40%-45% of it online.

And when they aren’t looking at pornography, other popular search items are social networking sites such as MySpace and Facebook, cosmetic surgery (particularly breast implants), family planning and pregnancy, and dieting.
