Do you remember those nostalgic days in middle school and high school when you passed a note to the little honey of your choosing and asked, “Do you like me? Check Yes or No.” Gone are those days of innocence. In today’s techonologically-driven world of cell phones, text messaging, video messaging, camera phones and the internet, teens are taking their pursuits of the opposite sex to an entirely new and shocking level of boldness. Today some teens are even sending nude photographs and videos to their love-interests. Police Detective Brian Marvin, a member of the FBI Cyber Crime Task Force of Central Ohio says, “I’ve seen everything from your basic striptease to sexual acts being performed. Some good questions for discussion would be: what is prompting this kind of reckless voyeurism and sexual expression among teenagers? How is the virtual world and medium of technology contributed to the deconstruction of modesty in our culture? What role does exposure and 5 minutes of fame play in these deviant acts (i.e., the teenagers recently arrested for assaulting a girl and putting the video on YouTube)?
